CRAFTCON 2024

Billed as the Interactive Cidermaking Development Conference, the fifth edition of Craftcon took place at the Royal Agricultural University of Circencester on Friday 5 and Saturday 6 April. Organized by the TCCPA (The Three Counties Cider & Perry Association), it was attended by over 20 speakers and panelists, who were able to enjoy interactive workshops and seminars aimed at aspiring and existing producers in the UK and beyond.

The TCCPA or Three Counties Cider and Perry Association represents, supports and promotes the interests of cider and perry producers based primarily in the Three Counties region of the UK (Herefordshire, Gloucestershire and Worcestershire).

This event promotes techniques, ideas and discussions on the cultivation of cider apples and perry pears. In addition, at the cidery you can watch the process from crushing to finished product and there are talks to inspire, inform and educate, as well as presentations on the ins and outs of the business.

These talks covered a wide range of topics such as the reuse of glass bottles, the beginnings of sparkling cider production, cheese pairings, the world of cider brandy, the international projection of Italian cider and the use of wooden barrels in the cider press.
