CIDER WORLD 2025

Cider World Frankfurt, the most important cider industry meeting in the heart of Europe was held on 25th and 26th April this year.

On Friday 25th, the Cider World Awards and Medals 2025 ceremony took place, as well as the Cider World Forum, at the Astor Film Lounge MyZeil. Among the various talks and workshops held during the day, one of the highlights was the one on Asturias Cider as Intangible World Heritage of Humanity, a title obtained at the end of last year.

On Saturday 26th, the 17th Frankfurt International Cider Fair was held at the Gesellschaftshaus Palmengarten, where the public could taste the different ciders of the event and attend master classes and presentations, one of which revolved around Asturias as a gastronomic destination.

The Guest of Honour this year was Styria, a picturesque región in Austria known for its extensive orchards and the high quality of its apples.

Asturian ciders obtained yet another year of well-deserved recognition, with a total of 11 medals distributed as follows:

For their part, the Basque cider makers Zabala, Zapiain and Isastegi received 4 awards: two gold medals went to Zapiain for its ice cider Bizi-Goxo and Premium 2024 natural cider; a silver medal for Zabala’s R.80 natural cider; and a silver medal for Isastegi DO natural cider.
