XIV ASTURIAS PDO CIDER FAIR/ XIV Salón DOP Sidra de Asturias

On Tuesday, 17th June, the XIV edition of the Asturias Cider Fair was held at Gijon Arena, organised by the Regulatory Council of the PDO Cider of Asturias, based in Villaviciosa.

This year, the honour of being the ambassador for Sidra de Asturias 2025 went to Olympic canoeist Saul Craviotto, for his connection and collaboration with this product made from 100% Asturian apples.

This fair is the largest meeting point for professionals in the cider sector—cider makers, producers, harvesters, distributors, and restaurateurs—as well as the perfect occasion for the presentation of awards for the best Asturian ciders of the year.

Following the declaration of Asturian cider as Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO at the end of last year, leaflets and brochures with three QR codes in Spanish, English and French were distributed this week. The information provided ranges from how to pour cider and the varieties of apples used, to the ideal serving temperature, which should be between 12 and 14 degrees.

Attendance at this showcase par excellence of Asturian cider culture was, as in previous years, by invitation only and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The award-winning ciders this year were:
