GLINTCAP 2021
In the 15th annual Great Lakes International Cider and Perry Competition, celebrated from 28th to 30th July in Michigan (USA), these were the Asturian cider awards:
GOLD MEDALS:
⦁ Natural Cider M. Busto, Mayador (Best in Class, Natural Cider)
⦁ 1898, El Gaitero (Ice Cider)
SILVER MEDALS:
⦁ Pomarina Brut, El Gaitero (Heritage Cider, Dry)
⦁ Spring Cider Apple (Modern Cider, Sweet)
⦁ Spring Cider Apple & Grape (Fruit Cider)
En la 15º GLINTCAP anual (Competición Internacional de Sidra y Perada de Grandes Lagos), celebrada del 28 al 30 de julio en Michigan (EEUU), éstos fueron los premios para las sidras asturianas:

INTERNATIONAL CIDER CHALLENGE 2021
This prestigious contest took place on 16th July in the UK, where Grupo El Gaitero was awarded with 6 medals. Two of them were given to Spring Cider, a new product released only 2 months ago.

⦁ Extra Cider: New World Style (Sweet Cider)

Este prestigioso concurso tuvo lugar el 16 de julio en Reino Unido, donde el Grupo El Gaitero fue galardonado con 6 medallas. Dos de ellas las recibió Spring Cider, un producto nuevo que salió al mercado hace sólo 2 meses.

On top of that, Exner Craft Apple Cider (Castañon) won The Supreme Champion Trophy in the Design & Packaging Individual Product new category.
Además de esto, Exner Sidra de Manzana Artesana (Castañón) ganó el trofeo como Campeón Supremo en la nueva catergoría de Diseño y Envasado Individual del Producto.
CIDERWORLD ’21
This year’s edition was again marked by the COVID-19 pandemic and it was broadcast from the Astor Film Lounge in Frankfurt on 3th June.

CINVE 2021
The 17th edition of the International Contest of Wines, Vermouths, Vinegars & Ciders was celebrated from 28th to 30th May in Caceres, Spain. This year, like the previous one, 20 Manzanas Valveran Ice Cider (Bodegas Masaveu) was awarded with the Gold Medal.
La 17º edicion del CINVE (Concurso Internacional de Vinos, Vermuts, Vinagres y Sidras) se celebró del 28 al 30 de mayo en Cáceres, España. Este año, como el anterior, la Sidra de Hielo 20 Manzanas Valverán (Bodegas Masaveu) fue premiada con la Medalla de Oro.
BEST P.D.O. ASTURIAN CIDERS
The contest’s XVIII edition took place on 22nd July in Tazones, Asturias. The Best Protected of Origin cider mills and apple grower were the following:
⦁ Best Filtered Natural Cider: Españar (Martinez Sopeña Hnos.)
⦁ Best Sparkling Natural Cider: Ramos del Valle (Fran)
⦁ Best Traditional Natural Cider: Val d’Boides (Castañon)
⦁ Best Apple Grower: Elvira Obaya Menendez
La XVIII edición del Concurso de las Mejores Sidras D.O.P. (Denominación de Origen Protegida) tuvo lugar el 22 de julio en Tazones, Asturias. Los mejores llagares y cosechero fueron los siguientes:

⦁ Mejor Sidra Natural Espumosa: Ramos del Valle (Fran)
